20 Best & Worst Oscar Looks

Worst: Berenice Bejo
The Best Supporting Actress nominee went for the trends – mint green, long sleeves and a braided up-do. Problem was, we couldn’t get past the long sleeves. It made the Elie Saab gown look too matronly.

Best: Viola Davis
Emerald is definitely Viola’s color! The Best Actress nominee may have kept herĀ hairĀ simple but her dress did all the talking. She donned a Vera Wang strapless gown with a pleated skirt and plunging neckline.

I find your choices “Ageist”. 4-5 of your 9 Worst were women over 45. Coincidental…I don’t think so.

Are you for real? Do you seriously believe that Jolie looked good in that stupid dress? The dress wore HER, she did not wear the dress. And what’s with the leg? Her leg looks scrawny, like a little boy’s leg.

And you seriously have to be on drugs to say that Sandra Bullock’s dress wasn’t great, but that Rooney Mara’s was. Do you people need glasses? Sandra’s gown was elegance personified. If it had been “tight” as you want, it would not have the drape it has, nor would the gold detailing be so well highlighted. And it is original, another star for this dress. You didn’t see this on everyone. Marchesa (Bullock) and Tom Ford (Paltrow) were the real winners in the fashion department.

Rooney’s dress looks like the designer forgot to finish the top of the dress. It seriously looks like it is inside out, not exactly the grunge look you want on the red carpet. It hangs poorly, and is completely unflattering, and not helped by that ridiculous hairstyle.

    Shelley and Diane,

Thank you for your comments. I always appreciate feedback, especially when there is a different point-of-view.

To Shelley’s comment regarding potential ageism in my commentary – I am 47 years old and proud of it!

I wish you a wonderful weekend.

    Best,

    Melissa
