New York Fashion Week kicks off this week. And we’re not only excited to see the hot fashion trends in the new collections; we want to see our favorite designers! After all, it’s not only about the clothes, right? We wear their designs, follow their trends, so why not take a peek into their internet habits to see the sites that inspire designers, including Michelle Smith of Milly, Elie Tahari, and Christian Siriano? Where you spend your time online says a lot, and that’s why we were curious about our favorite designers’ favorite websites, from cooking sites to blogs to online auctions. Who would have guessed: designers are just like us!

25 Famous Fashion Designers Share Their Go-To Websites

1. Douglas Hannant
“My favorite website is style.com. I look at it every day when I arrive at my office.”—Douglas Hannant

2. Honor
“My husband and I love Huffington Post! He put it best when he said, ‘Come for the trash, stay for the news.’”—Giovanna Randall

3. Lela Rose
“I love to check out cooking websites like 101cookbooks.com and davidlebovitz.com. They are both great cooking sites. . . . 101cookbooks.com is about the intersection of travel, food, and natural ingredients; davidlebovitz.com is about his food life in Paris, and has delicious recipes for sweets and ice cream.”—Lela Rose

4. Callula Lillibelle
“My favorite site is ebay.com. It fuels my passion for collecting furniture and old lamps.”
William Calvert

5. Porter Grey
“1stdibs.com is a great resource for interior design, art, and fashion. We love the site’s Style Compass features and the fact that you can shop for amazing antique furniture alongside incredible vintage clothing. I suppose it’s a 1-stop shop for lovers of anything beautiful.”—Kristen and Alexandra O’Neill

6. Georges Chakra
“One of my favorite websites is filmschoolrejects.com. I enjoy movies and the cinematic world, reading reviews of upcoming movies, interviews, critics’ opinions, watching trailers, and learning about directors, producers, and special effects. This website offers it all.”—Georges Chakra

7. Barbara Tfank
“My favorite website is the Criterion Collection for the best classic and contemporary films, criterion.com. Its library of DVDs is extraordinary. My latest favorite film is The Night of the Hunter, a real masterpiece directed by Charles Laughton. The documentary on the making of the film is as thrilling as the movie itself!”—Barbara Tfank

8. Davidelfin
“My favorite website is theselby.com. I love to see those people at home and daydream about their lives.”—David Delfin

9. Chris Benz
“I love colourlovers.com. It’s a user-generated color palette site that is such a great tool for design industries. Even if I’m stuck on a color palette, there’s always an inspirational direction on this site!”—Chris Benz

10. Joy Cioci
“Nationalgeographic.com because of its phenomenal photography, which is utterly unrivaled. So much of my inspiration is drawn from the many breathtaking aspects of the world that National Geographic is able to capture.”—Joy Cioci

11. Libertine
“My favorite, favorite is Dlisted. Total guilty pleasure, and truth be told I envy Michael K’s wit.”—Johnson Hartig

12. Rebecca Taylor
“I absolutely love jibjab.com! It is so much fun to send silly e-cards to my friends and family to brighten up their day. It helps keep us close even though we are often halfway around the world.”—Rebecca Taylor

13. Milly
“Net-a-porter.com is a great site for busy, fashionable women on the go, as it is so well edited.”—Michelle Smith

14. Christian Siriano
“Annadellorusso.com. This is Anna Dello Russo’s blog, and I love it because she’s having so much fun with fashion and is still so excited about clothes. I hope more editors can be this free-thinking about fashion and design, and remember that it’s a serious business but we should all have fun. It is also exciting to see what she thinks is fabulous on a daily basis, because I don’t think everyone can pull off a gold fringe jacket during the day.”
Christian Siriano

15. Tadashi Shoji
“A lot of my inspiration and education comes from diexun.com. I am constantly scouring the site for interesting images.”—Tadashi Shoji

16. Rebecca Minkoff
“I find myself looking at lookbook.nu often. I love how you’re able to sort the submissions by country, designer, type of clothing, and even color scheme! It’s such a great resource to see how real people are dressing these days, a pulse for everyday style.”
Rebecca Minkoff

17. Pamella Roland
“I enjoy the New York Times’ On the Runway blog. I have always been a fan of Cathy Horyn’s and Eric Wilson’s witty writing. Their fingers are on the fashion pulse.”
Pamella Roland

18. Yoana Baraschi
“Faucetsdirect.com, for a spa in my country house. I just came across a bathtub I can’t afford.”—Yoana Baraschi

19. Sachin + Babi
“I love getting on Jak & Jil Blog, jakandjil.com, to see all the pictures of people on the street in fabulous cities.”—Babi Ahluwalia

20. Elie Tahari
“I love The Daily and style.com. They have everything I need to know about the fashion business.”—Elie Tahari

21. Son Jung Wan

“Eater.com. I can always count on eater.com to keep me posted on new restaurants to try.”—Raul Melgoza

23. Boy Meets Girl
“I am currently obsessed with mashable.com because it incorporates technology and fashion, and we all know how much of a social media nerd I’ve become.”—Stacy Igel

24. Tibi
“Anothermag.com has been one of my latest haunts for inspiration. The mix of art, culture, and fashion content accompanied with gorgeous photography and links to other totally amazing and undiscovered blogs feels fresh and could keep me occupied forever.”—Amy Smilovic

25. Maisonette 1977
“I do visit Ebay often. First, there are a lot of things in my closet I need to clean out and sell. I also like browsing through the site, because it really is the most direct way to get a sense of how much people are willing to to pay for what, what become classics and what becomes a fad. You can find almost anything in there. Endlessly fascinating.”
Jane Ibrahim
