Going Green

I am trying to go green and would like to learn about some great eco-friendly products. What are some of your suggestions?

Weleda

Weleda

Weleda is one of my favorite organic skin care brands. Their facial care kits contain a variety of products from cleansers to moisturizers. They are also great for traveling. The Wild Rose Kit contains products made from organic roses which rejuvenate the skin. Retails for $14.99.

For “Greening Your Home,” I recommend the new Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Home Book. It’s filled with “practical green” tips from removing wine stains to recycling old cell phones. Retails for $19.99.

Also from Mrs. Meyer’s, is the new Snap Pea Spring Cleaning Kit. The springtime scent smells great and the products are earth friendly and economical. This starter kit contains their most popular cleaners in convenient sizes. Retails for $14.99

SIGG, “The Original Swiss Bottle”

Sigg’s Water Bottles are the ultimate eco-friendly bottles and a great alternative to plastic. They’re made of aluminum and are 100% recyclable. With over 150 styles, there is something for everyone. The 1 liter size fits into most car and gym cup holders. Prices range from $21.99 – $29.99.

Get-Hip-Reusable-Shopping-Bags

Get Hip, Get Green Reusable Shopping Bags

Instead of using paper or plastic bags, I love these Get Hip, Get Green Reusable Shopping Bags. The company also donates a portion of their proceeds to children’s environmental causes. The bags were just included as a goodie bag item for The Oscars. Retails for $6.00.

Purchase Black Shopping Bag

I also just discovered (and purchased one for myself) their brand new canvas tote. The Blue “Love This Planet” style is a favorite of Jessica Alba. Retails for $29.95.

Sweetriot

I satisfy my sweet tooth (and you can satisfy yours) with delicious treats from sweetriot. They are both good for you and your waistline. These dark chocolate Cacao “Peaces” are all natural, dairy free, gluten free and kosher too! They are filled with antioxidants and are only 1 to 2 calories each. The gift cube contains 12 tins that are 100% recyclable. Retails for $44.99.

Sweetriot also just came out with a new line of healthy dark chocolate snack bars. A box of 12 retails for $29.00.

If you are looking to buy a new computer, why not go green! I recommend the new Aluminum Macbooks from Apple. They’re highly recyclable, more energy efficient, sold with reduced packaging, and have a longer lasting battery. They are the greenest computers available today!
