Peter Davis on Style, New York and his new SCENE

MM: Where is the biggest and best scene for dinner? Cocktails? After hours?
PD: There are so many great spots in New York. Lately I have been going to the re-vamped Acme, to the point where after three nights in a row, one of the owners, the dapper Jon Neidich called me “Mr. Acme.” I also love classic spots like The Odeon which I went to almost daily when I lived in Tribeca for years. At night, I still think The Boom Boom Room is the most stunning nightclub New York has seen – the views, the design, the people – it is the ultimate in chicness. That said, I love The Double Seven, Rose Bar, Le Bain, Avenue, The Electric Room, Le Baron – I always have fun at all those places.

MM: What is your perfect New York day?
PD: Seeing great art. I just saw the Keith Haring retrospective at The Brooklyn Museum, then had lunch at a delicious mom and pop restaurant in Williamsburg, then did some credit card damage at my favorite store, Opening Ceremony – hit Equinox then went to a movie near Lincoln Center and then to Shun Lee for dim sum. That is the perfect Saturday in my book.
