Ralph Lauren Spring 2012 Roundup

The Ralph Lauren fashion show symbolizes the end of New York Fashion Week. Well, for me at least (I won’t be heading to Europe for the shows, but I will be reporting about them right here.)  Skylight Soho was filled with a semi-intimate batch of editors, celebs, and of course, the Lauren clan.  This season’s show proved to be no different than any other.  Each piece, in some way, was quintessential “Ralph”.  Spring is all about pastels, silks, feathers and sequins.  The color palette included robin’s egg, blush, celery and ivory, reminding me of those mini Cadbury eggs available at Easter time.  Yum.  Even the creams popped with touches of feathers or pearlized details. The raffia wedges with metallic lizard trim were paired with the more casual looks (cardigans and floral skirts), and the python sandals with gold heels worked perfectly with the evening looks (gowns and bustier/skirt combo).

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Mr. Lauren’s creations, though not surprised.  Another elegant collection graced the runway—the perfect way to end NYFW.
