Cool Color Trends to Wear into the Fall
These fives staples rocked the summer season and will continue to be huge into the fall. Here are our top tips for helping you transition these style splurges into the colder months!
Red – Red is going to be a huge color come autumn. Find a variety of reds in different shades and textures so you have the option to be bold, soft or glamorous. A great signature red item to invest in for the fall would be a pair of red shoes like the Lucia Suede Platform Wedge ($198) from Ann Taylor. The suede will be a fab fabric for colder weather and these shoes would pair well with a wrap dress.
Blue/Teal – Blues and teals are perfect for transitioning into September. Buy accessories in these cool tones to add the perfect finishing touch to your overall look. A set of bracelets like Chamak by Priya Kakkar Bangles ($58/4 at Nordstrom) helps lend a pop of color to your outfit while also displaying your trendsetting style.
Colorblocking – Colorblocking has been a big summer trend that will continue well into winter. You can wear this style in a two-tone pairing or in a multi-range of colors. To make the look just right for your office, stick to one color and pair it with a neutral. We love this 2 B Rych Colorblock Ponte Dress ($285 on neimanmarcus.com) because it combines nude accents with a burst of bold red!
Leopard – In the colder months, leopard looks sleek and chic! For this coming season, it’s all about bold outerwear that will get you noticed. A sophisticated and more demure style like the ASOS Leopard Coat ($155.15) can work its magic with an LBD or a pair of skinny jeans.
Orange/Rust – Orange and rust shades are the new brown for fall. Use these colors as great neutrals that add an autumn glow to your look. Choose a pretty satin shirt like this Patterson J. Kincaid Harlow Pocket Blouse ($98 on bergdorfgoodman.com). The burnt orange color will work well at the office when paired with a navy pencil skirt and can easily transition to a girls night out, too!
Have you tried any of these trends yet? Will you be wearing them into the fall season? Which one of these is your fave?

Fall’s Best Footwear Under $200
If you’ve done any shopping lately, you’ll see that Summer’s gone and we’re onto Fall. As such, I’ve been receiving a lot of emails from people asking what’s going to be hot for the upcoming season. Therefore, I’ve decided that over the next few weeks I’ll be writing several Fall fashion posts. Let’s start at the bottom: footwear. All of my selections are modeled after the runways of Marc by Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Alexander Wang and Doo Ri. But I’ve scoured stores and sites to bring you more affordable versions on a budget.
1.) Heeled Loafers:
Update the classic loafer by adding height. The higher the chicer. This pair from Charles Albert ($49) is made from synthetic materials (Vegans out there might opt for this) and comes in a nude color. Check off two trends with this heel.
*I suggest removing the ankle strap for a cleaner look.
If you’re looking for a different option, check out these Ann Taylor loafers ($198). They’re sold out online, so pop into a store near you. I’m a big fan of the tassle and neutral colorblocking.

2.) Skins:
This season, the more exotic the skin, the better. This pair from Asos ($129.29) is a perfect option. The taupe suede platform bootie has just the right amount of python to peek out from beneath your bells.
*If you’ve never checked out Asos.com, a British e-commerce site, you simply MUST. Items are reasonably priced and there are constant deals running that entail no tax and free shipping.

3.) Combat Boots:
These boots from Aldo ($160) are a double whammy. They satisfy the want of a combat boot, while having the need of comfiness. The tractor soul adds a durable factor.

4.) Shearling/Fur Lining:
Synonymous with comfort, Aerosoles has done it again with its take on fur. This must have for fall ($140) is not only practical in all weather, but you’ll look stylish while staying dry.
5.) Animal Prints:
These flats from Kelsi Dagger ($89) are not only my pick for Fall, but they have the Rachel Zoe stamp of approval as well. As the temperature begins to drop, pair these with knee highs or tights. The patent leather toe adds a touch of elegance and breaks up the all over print.
*Don’t hesitate to mix your patterns this Fall. You’ll be right on trend wearing your nautical stripes paired with animal prints. Throw on a chunky necklace and you’re good to go!
